Yesterday, Feb 11th was a national holiday. It was National Foundation Day. It was a very cold day and it had been snowing from morning in Tokyo resion. And it became sleet and rain, now you can see the moon tonight (Feb 12th) It seems like it is going to be a good weather tomorrow. There is a flu going around, please take care! The Typhoon #14 is heading to northeast direction which is now located in the west-southeast of Hachijo-jima island as of 11am. It is expected to reach to Kanro region the most in the evening, the Meteorological Agency is warning heavy rain. The strong-wind area of the typhoon #14 is getting wider. From Shikoku island to Kanto region are in the strong-wind area, over 15m/second, it seems like it will keep blowing long even after the typhoon will have been gone. From now on, in the even to 9pm, it will reach to Kanto region or land.

The powerful Pacific anticyclones overlies the whole Japan islands again today, the temperature went up from the morning. Four straight extremely hot days calls “Mosho-bi”, the highest temperature goes over 35C, equals the longest record in recorded history in Otemachi, Tokyo. And other places went over 30C which is called “Manatsu-bi”.

東京はコンクリートなので、道路や建物なども熱くなっているし、湿度も高いので、気温以上に暑く感じます。 The rods and buildings also get hot in Tokyo because it is covered by concrete and it is humid, you would feel much higher than the temperature.

TOKYO, April 17 (AP) - (Kyodo) Snow fell in central Tokyo on Saturday as the mercury plunged, matching the 1969 record for the season's latest snowfall, the Japan Meteorological Agency said. Snow also fell in other areas in the Kanto-Koshin regions mainly in the early hours, with 16 centimeters accumulating in Kusatsu, Gunma Prefecture, 18 cm in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture and 3 cm in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture as of 5 a.m. Saturday's snow in central Tokyo, Yokohama, Kofu in Yamanashi Prefecture and some other areas matched the record for the latest snowfall logged April 17, 1969.
